Technology News Editors
Los Angeles (Woodland Hills, CA)

Work with our top-notch team of writers to produce original news and features for NewsFactor Network, Monday through Friday. Daily duties include an interesting combination of editing and proofreading original content from our writers, selecting syndicated content from other leading publishers, writing attention-grabbing headlines, managing a team of freelance writers, and developing story ideas. We prefer candidates with at least 3 years of professional editorial experience working for technology or business publications. Solid knowledge of the computer industry and consumer electronics are extremely helpful. Please note that we are only considering candidates who are already living in the Los Angeles area, within a 30-minute drive of our office in Woodland Hills to help minimize the daily commute.

Advertising Sales Reps / Account Executives
Los Angeles (Woodland Hills, CA)

Full-time, inside sales positions plus 10% outside sales, meeting with advertising directors, VPs of marketing and their ad agencies. Must have professional sales appearance, as well as OUTSTANDING verbal skills for effective communication both on the phone and in writing. Must be able to write clear and effective sales letters and proposals. Our sales positions also require professional presentation skills, careful attention to detail, and an understanding of the advertising industry to help companies best achieve their sales and marketing objectives. Hours are M-F, 7:30am-4:30pm or 8:00am-5:00pm. Mid-range and senior positions require 3 or more years of experience in print and/or online ad sales or very closely related experience. Base + commission. Outstanding opportunity for experienced sales people as well as highly motivated college grads with top GPAs. More senior positions require mid-range to expert level skills using Goldmine, Act! or similar contact management software, as well as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. PHP Programmer & Linux Systems Administrator
Los Angeles (Woodland Hills, CA)

Help develop great applications for NewsFactor Network and provide tech support to in-house staff, including hardware & software support (PCs & Macs), as well as network maintenance. This position consists of approximately 80% development work and 20% user support and systems administration.

This position requires EXPERT level programming skills in PHP, MySQL, Advanced HTML, and Javascript, working in a Linux environment.

EXPERT level applicants ONLY. No Microsoft admins or entry level programmers, please. Hours are M-F, 8:00am - 5:00pm + availability by phone for emergency tech support. Excellent people skills and outstanding communication skills required to support our staff and clients. Please note that, for this position, we are only considering candidates who live very nearby, or within a 10-mile radius of our office, located at 21700 Oxnard St., Woodland Hills, CA 91367.

Freelance Technology Journalists & Remote Reporters
U.S. ONLY (WORK FROM HOME, ANYWHERE IN THE U.S.)

Join our outstanding team of reporters and journalists who produce original daily news and insightful features for NewsFactor Network. We have current openings for experienced technology journalists who are available to write morning and/or afternoon news, Monday through Friday. Topics focus on computer technology and enterprise I.T. Coverage includes hardware, software, networking, security, data storage, tech innovation and technology trends, wireless devices and mobility, as well as CRM (customer relationship management), and BPM (business process management).

Applicants must have experience covering at least 3 of these topics. Quick turnaround and outstanding writing skills are essential, as well as in-depth industry knowledge, experience and contacts. Our writers must have a solid understanding of business and technology to be able to write intelligently for a high-level audience of CIOs, IT managers, and computer technology pros. All articles require phone interviews with industry analysts or company spokespersons to ensure objectivity and proper industry perspective.

Location

Based in Los Angeles, California, our offices are centrally located in Woodland Hills, near the Canoga and Topanga Canyon exits of the 101 Ventura Freeway. Our office building is in Warner Center Towers, two doors down from the Marriott Hotel, and directly across from the Woodland Hills Promenade shopping mall, with numerous restaurants, shops, and two health clubs just steps away.

Please note that, except for Remote Reporters, we are not considering candidates who live outside the L.A. area at this time.
