StudySync Wins Coveted "Trendsetter" Award from EdTech Digest -- EdTech Digest 2012 Awards Program Honors Collaborative Online Learning Platform for Raising the Bar in Educational Technology

SONOMA, Calif., April 16, 2012 -- BookheadEd Learning, LLC, publisher of StudySync (www.studysync.com), the web-based collaborative curriculum, announced today that the product has received EdTech Digest's "Trendsetter" award, as part of the publication's 2012 Awards Program.

The StudySync platform took top honors as the "Product or Service Setting a Trend" over some formidable contenders. EdTech Digest recognizes people in and around education for outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology to enrich the lives of learners everywhere.

For StudySync, the honor is the second in as many months. In March, the product was named a Finalist in the 2012 SIIA CODiE Awards, in the "Best K-12 Instructional Solution" category.

"The sharply increased volume of entries in this year's EdTech Digest Awards Program indicates a marketplace further heating up with innovation, creativity and solutions - all at a very frenzied pace," said Victor Rivero, editor-in-chief of EdTech Digest. "It's an overflow room this year with more than double the amount of entries as last. Technology and talent are stably coming together for education in a time of great budgetary change where old models continue to crumble as a new normal yet emerges. The best solutions are earning their places as they build out and scale up; they deliver with ease and efficacy, and in short, they're real."

"Behind the quality products and services, the apps and platforms, the content and clicks are real leaders in the space who are under no illusion as to what it takes to get things done," Rivero said. "These trendsetters, both people and products, are making it standing room only when it comes to the palpable, electric energy in the edtech sector today - and that's very good news for the future of education."

"This recognition from EdTech Digest is especially gratifying, given the caliber of products in our category," said Robert Romano, BookheadEd Learning CEO. "For our dedicated team of top academics, designers, and developers, the Trendsetter Award is a very meaningful validation of their efforts to produce the most dynamic edtech experience possible. Our blended approach to reading comprehension, critical thinking, and the collaborative evolution of knowledge reflects the innovation critical to the future of education."

An innovative, web-delivered academic tool, StudySync was created by leading national educators with the goal of inspiring higher levels of critical thinking and academic collaboration. Aligned to the Common Core State Standards, StudySync targets middle and high school students, enlisting broadcast-quality video, digital media, mobile platforms and social learning to advance students' reading, writing and critical thinking abilities.
