DB Networks Names Database Security Veteran Rami Shalom as VP of Product Management -- DB Networks’ Expands Leadership Team as Company Appoints Former SafeNet Executive and Concealium Founder

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 20, 2013 -- DB Networks, an innovator of behavioral analysis in database security, today announced the appointment of database security industry veteran Rami Shalom as Vice President of Product Management. In this role, Mr. Shalom will have responsibility for managing and expanding the company’s product portfolio across its growing market in the financial and government sectors.

“Rami is a seasoned IT security veteran who brings deep database security and product management expertise to DB Networks in this critical role,” said Brett Helm, Chairman and CEO of DB Networks. “We’re committed to providing premier quality products based on our complex behavioral analysis technology to help keep our customers protected from advanced database threats. Rami will enable us to continue this commitment.”

Prior to joining DB Networks, Mr. Shalom managed the Data Encryption and Control Division for SafeNet, focusing on commercial data protection, and previously managed the Enterprise Content Security Division. Prior to SafeNet, Mr. Shalom founded Concealium, a startup company dealing with data centric protection. Previously, as the Director of Product Management for Imperva, he oversaw database, web application security and compliance, and before Imperva he managed the security business for Microsoft’s Israeli subsidiary. Mr. Shalom was the VPN-1 Project Manager for Check Point Software Technologies, and was a Product Manager and a Senior Development Engineer with network security and encryption systems for Radguard LTD, a VPN startup company.

Mr. Shalom holds a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tel-Aviv University and a BA degree in Psychology from Tel-Aviv University. He graduated Cum Laude with both degrees.

About DB Networks

DB Networks is an innovator of behavioral analysis technologies in the field of database security. Developed for organizations that need to protect their data from advanced attacks, including Zero-Day attacks, DB Networks offers effective countermeasures against SQL injection and database Denial of Service attacks. Database attacks happen rapidly -- in a matter of minutes -- and bypass traditional perimeter security measures. DB Networks’ unique approach uses behavioral analysis technology to automatically learn each application’s proper SQL statement behavior. Any SQL statement dispatched from the application that deviates from the established behavioral model immediately raises an alarm as a possible attack. DB Networks is a privately held company headquartered in San Diego, Calif. For more information, see http://www.dbnetworks.com, or call (800) 598-0450.
